How to speak openly about violence? What questions to ask? How to get the correct answers and not to harm a person? This and not only teachers and students of the second course of Department of Journalism and Philology FPSC SSU spoke on November 24 at the online workshop “Gender-based violence: Should you always look for a hero for your plot”.

Under this title, on November 25, 2021, a virtual exhibition platform of pedagogical experience took place. The Department of Journalism and Philology FPSC  SSU was presented by Associate Professor Alla Yarova with a report “Post-Soviet dimension of modern Ukrainian speech culture”.

On November 23, 2021, students and teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU took part in the webinar “Search for experts and statistics in the Crimea”, which is part of the online course for journalists “In focus – CRIMEA”. The event was implemented with the assistance of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine in partnership with the European Federation of Journalists.

The International Scientific Conference “Ukrainistyka Wrocławska: lingua, litterae, sermo” took place on November 18-19 in Wroclaw (Poland) on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Wroclaw. Alla Yarova, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU, took part in this forum.

What are the risks of involving children in media production? What should media people pay attention to when preparing materials whose characters are children? These issues were discussed at an online workshop on November 17, which was attended by teachers, postgraduate students, students of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU.

On November 17, traditionally before the International Student Day, SSU hosted the ceremony of announcing the winners of the “Best Student of the Year 2021”. The most ambitious representatives of the university competed for the championship. In the nomination “Scientific activity. The best media student” was won by Anastasia Dedova, a student of the Department of Journalism and Philology.

Volodymyr Sadivnychy, Head of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU, took part in the TV program “Today. The Main Thing”, which is shown on UA: SUMY. The topic of the issue is “Features of the Radio Dictation of National Unity 2021”.

On the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, Olena Ishchenko, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC of SSU, gave a lecture “Language Culture as a Key to Successful Professional Communication”. The event for students of group ZhT-11 and employees of the private enterprise “Shopping Center “Kyiv” was held within the framework of the scientific topic “Ukrainian Language in the Modern Information Space”.

November 9 marks the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. A day that is symbolized both by the development of the state language and by the literacy of all those in Ukraine. 

Freshmen-media students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of FPSC SSU met with a graduate, a journalist of the online publication “Tribune” Alexandra Tokar. The guest shared practical experience on the peculiarities of working in the media, in particular in medical and social journalism, as well as told about the years of study.

Postgraduate student, tutor at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC SSU Victoria Suchkova joined the project “Detox for educators” from “Public Radio”. The lecture of the editor-in-chief and host of Hromadsky, Tetyana Troshchynska, which took place on October 27, became the first online meeting within the project.
