The defense of master’s theses took place at the Department of Journalism and Philology  FPCS  SSU. Graduates are part of the media space.

Kateryna Izotova, a master student of the Department of Journalism and Philology FPCS SSU (specialty “Journalism”) took the second place at the All-Ukrainian Shakespearean competition of student research and creative projects named after Vitaly Case. She presented her own creative work “Thoughts that flow through the centuries”.

The second stages of the XII International Linguistic and Literary Competition  named after Taras Shevchenko and the XXII Petro Jacyk Ukrainian Language International Competition among students of professional higher and higher education took place. Our students win at the regional level!

“Hello! Can I order advertising from you? ” – with such a request addressed to the students-advertisers of the Department of Journalism and Philology FPCS SSU Director of LLC “Baby Stroller Factory “TRANS-BABY” Hryhorii Tymchenko. That’s how the acquaintance began.

The results of the annual competition “The best teacher  (based on student reviews)” have been summed up.

The next issue of the TV project “Debate” was broadcast on UA: Sumy TV channel with the participation of representatives of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU. The topic of the issue is “Civic VS professional: what kind of journalism is the future?”.

The project “Sumy Journalism. Idividuals” , which became a joint venture of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU and NGO “Sumy Press Club”. The reason for its implementation is the 20th anniversary of the public organization, which took place in late November.

“Frunze – 125. Rebooting” is the name of a twenty-minute film dedicated to the 125th anniversary of JSC “Sumy Machine-Building Research and Production Association – Engineering”. The video was made to order by the Department of Journalism and Philology FPSC SSU.

Associate Professor of Journalism and Philology,  FPSC SSU Alla Yarova took part in a video conference “Nations do not die from a heart attack. At first, they are getting deprived of their language ”, which took place on December 1 at the Institute of Slavic Philology at the Ludwig-Maximilian University (Germany).

Associate Professor of Journalism and Philology, Faculty of FPSC SSU Inna Gavrilyuk took part in a webinar “From misinformation to fakes: decoding manipulative content”, organized by the Academy of Ukrainian Press (supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom).

The first stage of the Eighteenth Traveling Documentary Film Festival in Sumy region has come to an end. Students and teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC SSU did not miss it. In particular, they watched the films “The Colombian Family” (directed by Tanja Wol Sorensen), “Petit Samedi” (“Little Samdi”) (directed by Paloma Sermon-Daï), “Invisible” (directed by Maya Martinyak), “There Will Be No More Night” (directed by Eleanor Weber).

Teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology FPSC SSU Iryna Zhilenko and Yulia Koval conducted classes on the basics of media literacy for students of 8-9 grades of secondary school I-III degrees of Synivka village council. The event took place in the format of an online meeting.
