The teaching staff of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University began training at the “Journalism Teachers’ Academy”.

On March 20, an orientation meeting was held, which included a short introduction, a story about the principles of training, clarification of technical points, etc.

The meeting was opened by Diana Dutsyk, executive director of the NGO “Ukrainian Institute of Media and Communication” (JTA). After all, this institution, in cooperation with DW Akademie, organized a training session for our teachers.

From DW Akademie, the staff of the department, the management of Sumy State University were greeted by program director Kyrylo Savin. He wished interesting learning and focused participation in acquiring new teaching practical and academic skills.

The head of the project, Iryna Baran, urged people to take all the tools that the trainers will provide during the sessions.

In general, classes are scheduled until the beginning of June and will end with the defense of individual projects. Trainers will discuss with the participants the issues of constructive alignment and educational goals, visualization in the educational process, evaluation, artificial intelligence, creating video materials for online teaching, etc.

– We are aware of the importance of teachers acquiring new knowledge and skills, because this will contribute to the improvement of the training of future media professionals – journalists, advertisers and PR specialists – who are educated at our department. The principle of constant learning for the sake of teaching others is the philosophy of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSC of Sumy State University, commented the head of the department Volodymyr Sadivnychyi about the teachers’ training.
