Maryna SADIVNYCHA, an assistant at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University, took part in an international internship in the Czech Republic under the program “Training of young journalists and the specifics of the work of regional media in the Czech Republic and Ukraine”.

The internship lasted from November 27 to December 1 and took place within the framework of the international project “Improving the quality of training of young journalists in Ukraine” from the Association for International Affairs of the Czech Republic (Associace pro medzální otázky/Association for International Affairs). Thirteen female teachers from different universities of Ukraine took part in the educational trip.

The internship program was extremely rich and included activities in three cities – Prague, Vienna and Brno. During the trip, the participants met with representatives of the joint media from Ukraine and the Czech Republic, in particular, media expert of the Journalistic Ethics Commission Tetyana LEBEDYEVA, representative of the Texty.org.ua publishing team Halyna PASTUKH, expert of the Ukrainian Media Center in Vienna Oksana STAVRO, with the editor-in-chief of the internet media Brno gossiper (Brněnská drbna) by Michal SHTYASTNA and journalist of Deník N newspaper and teacher of Masaryk University Yana USTOHALOVA. They visited the editorial offices of Czech Radio and Czech Television in Brno, where they got acquainted with the peculiarities of the work of regional offices of public broadcasters, visited the journalism department of Masaryk University, talked with representatives of the press services of the administration of the South Moravian Region and Masaryk University.

At the end of the trip, representatives of the Ukrainian higher education institutions visited the headquarters of Radio Liberty in Prague, where they met with the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian edition, Maryana Drach.

– I am happy that I had the opportunity to take part in the internship. It was interesting to compare how regional media work in Ukraine and the Czech Republic, to get acquainted with the activities of press services, as well as to evaluate the peculiarities of the training of future journalists. I am sure that the experience gained during the trip will be needed in various aspects of my professional activity, – said Maryna SADIVNYCHA.

The materials collected during the internship and participation in the project will be used for the preparation of educational disciplines of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University. And at the international level #media_space_leads_to_the_universe.
