Destin – is an international project, which the Department of Journalism and Philology (Sumy State University) has started to work on. The goal is to develop journalism education, standards, integrity, and professionalism for democracy in Ukraine. The project will take place by 2021 and is financed by EU program Erasmus+. Taking part in the project allows the University to upgrade the quality of journalism education

The students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Sumy State University took part in the celebration of the Day of Science.

On January 23 students and lectures of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Sumy State University participated in the training “Self-presentation and persuasion in journalism”. It was conducted by Inna Penchuk - Professor, Head of the Department of Journalism of the Classic Private University (Zaporizhzhia), author and presenter of the TV program for children "Little adults" on the "Telekanal Z"

The lecturer of the University of Vilnius Dr. Nerijus Maliukevičius gave a lecture at the SSU on the 24 of November about the information security. The students and lecturers of the Department of Journalism and Philology attended the meeting

At the Department of Journalism and Philology has been established a Center of Media and Information Literacy under the program funded by the Media Development Fund of US Embassy in Ukraine.

Two TV shows produced by the studTV “11th Floor” have got the laureate diplomas at the International Children's, Youth Festival of Audiovisual Arts “Kryshtalevi Dzherela XXVI” (Kyiv) in the age group “Students”
