At the Department of Journalism and Philology of the IFSС SSU presented bachelor’s theses. The 2022 graduates are part of a journalistic family.

Sumy» visited the Department of Journalism and Philology of FPSC  SSU to explain to the second-year students how news journalism specialists work in the conditions of a full-scale war. 

Students, postgraduate students, teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC SSU took part in a master class on Instagram journalism from German media expert Selina Bettendorf, who was the first to create instructions for using programs and services on the social network Instagram.

Borrowing from the Slavic languages to the Central Romani language was discussed at the Ebergard Karl University of Tübingen (Department of Slavic Studies, Institute of Neolinguistics). Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Faculty of FPSC SSU Alla Yarova took part in the discussion.

What is it like to be a professional? It is to understand one's own media specialization and, above all, to remain a patriot of Ukraine. These were the main topics of practical classes of 2nd year students of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Faculty of FPSC SSU. On May 5, 2022, they met with Oleksandr Golizdra, owner of the Market.Info agency and head of the press service of the agricultural company KSG agro.

On April 20, undergraduate students of the Department of Journalism of FPSC SSU took part in the webinar “Information War: to win can not be lost” from the Educational Center of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

On April 5, an online meeting of representatives of the Department of Journalism and Philology of FPSC SSU with teachers of the Department of Audiovisual Arts of the University of Mainz named after Johann Gutenberg (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) took place.

Associate professors of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of  FPSC SSU Alla Fedoryna and Volodymyr Sadivnychy conducted a training on media literacy, organized by the Phylyp Orlyk Institute for Democracy. They talked about misinformation and forms of counteracting it.
