At the Department of Journalism and Philology of the IFSС SSU presented bachelor’s theses. The 2022 graduates are part of a journalistic family.

By the decision of the examination commission, 47 graduates of full-time, part-time, distance and parallel forms of education were awarded the bachelor's degree. 23 defended their qualifying works “excellent”. Only one 3 was drawn - one hundred percent by accident…

Six full-time graduates will receive diplomas with honors: Anastasia Dedova, Diana Zubar, Maria Krykunenko, Vladуslava Kritska, Karina Chornobuk, Zoreslava Shedenko. It so happened that they are all from the same group.

Vladislava Kritska, having just heard the verdict of the examination commission on the excellent assessment and awarding of the qualification “Bachelor of Journalism”, commented:

– This year, the defense took place in a synchronous-asynchronous format, which for me, to be honest, reduced the nervous tension during the report. In general, the atmosphere was quite relaxed, and it also helped not to worry and focus on the presentation of the work. In the end, we said goodbye to each other - and this is probably the most pleasant end of university. But I hope to meet with classmates in a magistracy.

Almost all qualifying works are creative projects: selections of text, audio, video and visual materials. Most of them were created in recent months and in one way or another relate to the war: stories about volunteers, diary entries from acquaintances, photos of occupied and then liberated settlements of Sumy region, etc.

– This presentation of the bachelor's theses is very special for me, for all of us. What we as a country have experienced over the last three and a half months has made us stronger and proved that we are defending what is truly valuable. What is truly valuable is not just our country, it is our future, our children, our students, our faith in the power of knowledge and education. The level of knowledge, analysis, critical thinking, sensitivity, respect and understanding of the audience, which showed our students in defense, confirms the high quality of the entire Department of Journalism and Philology of SSU. I believe that our bachelors will make our journalism and media communications better. My congratulations to the graduates, – noted the head of the examination commission Tetyana Fedoriv, a well-known journalist, deputy chairman of the board of the Public Radio NGO, and a doctor of public administration.

During the five days of defense, students not only demonstrated their knowledge and skills, but also worried, argued, answered questions, persuaded and, of course, smiled.

– Despite the war and the ambiguity caused by it in the first two months, we managed the most important thing - to ensure the educational process, to adjust the vast majority of students to work, to organize a decent defense of qualifications. Ahead of our graduates are diplomas and a wonderful life in the profession. The best enter the master's program and then the postgraduate course, - summed up the Нead of the department Volodymyr Sadivnychy.

Life goes on. The educational process at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the IFSС SSU is continuous, training is ongoing. After all, the path is endless, which #Mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe.
