Volodymyr Sadivnychiy, head of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FPSC of Sumy State University, took part in the work of the round table “International experience for journalism education and science in Ukraine: challenges and prospects”.

The event was organized by the Ukrainian Institute of Media and Communication as part of the Journalism Teachers’ Academy project in cooperation with DW Akademie with the financial support of the German Federal Ministry for Development and Development (BMZ).

They talked about the international experience Ukrainian higher education institutions have in training journalists; as a new experience of teachers and students to convert into the development of Ukrainian journalism education; what resources and changes are needed for the integration of Ukrainian scientists into the world discourse of media studies, etc.

Among the speakers of the round table were Roman Horbyk, Sedertern University (Sweden), Tanya Lokot, Dublin University (Ireland), Oksana Pochapska, Kamianets-Podilskyi National University named after Ivan Ohienko, Andriy Yatsenko, Lviv National University, Victoria Romanyuk, Mohyla School of Journalism, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University, Volodymyr Sadivnychiy, Sumy State University, Iryna Matsyshina, Donetsk National University, Vitaly Korneev, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and others.

Speaking during the round table, Volodymyr Sadivnychiy focused on the issue of converting the international experience of teachers into the development of journalism education. In particular, he focused on the implementation of augmented reality technologies in the training of journalists.

The event takes place within the framework of the Journalism Teachers’ Academy project, which is implemented by the NGO “Ukrainian Institute of Media and Communication” in cooperation with DW Akademie with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Development of Germany (BMZ).
