First-year students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPCS SSU visited the exhibition of art photography, which took place in the Art Space on Teatralna (Sumy). The event was initiated by teacher Serhiy Malyuk and took place as part of the study of the discipline “Media Engineering and Media Technology”.

Future journalists got acquainted with the exhibition “Outstanding”, a famous Ukrainian artist, Honored Artist of Ukraine Igor Shvachunov. Young media people had the opportunity not only to view the author’s work, but also to learn about the peculiarities of creating creative projects.

– The exhibition was to show students how the project is implemented – from the origin of the idea to the final result. It’s not just a collection of photos. This is an idea embodied by concrete means. There is a plan in every photo location, in every color solution, – says teacher Serhiy Malyuk.

– The artist’s works are full of strong energy and carry a specific extraordinary idea that allows you to look into the author's worldview and understand the ideology of his projects, – admitted the first-year students.

In their opinion, creative works evoke warm memories from childhood, and the mystery and unusualness of the names make you think about something majestic and incomprehensible.

Student Zakhar Yuvko shared his impressions of the event:

– There was a creative and truly mystical atmosphere at the exhibition. Mr. Igor’s works are imbued with amazing energy. In one corner you are told about a three-meter wall of foam formed for unknown reasons, and in another – about the essence of the art object - two snowmen at the entrance to the city park. Somewhere you share interesting stories about photography, and somewhere, in long-abandoned houses, gardens and bridges, ghosts from the past look at you. Igor Shvachunov, as a true artist, proved to us that beauty awaits at every step, and it only depends on the person whether he will be able to see it, and whether this beauty will be a source of inspiration.

Students note that after visiting the Art Space they have pleasant memories, a lot of inspiration and inspiration for creativity. Teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPCS SSU emphasize that classes for future media professionals should be primarily practice-oriented. This is one of the ways when #mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe.
