The next lesson of media literacy was held by the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of  FPCS SSU for pupils of the Belopol Lyceum № 2 named after S. M. Gordienko. Associate professors Tetyana Kovalyova and Volodymyr Sadivnychy, and postgraduate student Oleksandr Horda worked with the pupils.

In the form of training, participants formed facts true and fictional, studied the possibilities and abilities to verify them, to weed out the truth from the half-truth, and so on. Each of the teams, and there were four of them in the class, tried to stand out in front of their peers and even more in front of the guests: fictional facts, fictional behavior, and, of course, intelligence. The latter they did best.

Of course, no one has yet managed to talk about media literacy and ignore social networks. Teachers of the department did not even try to do it during the meeting with Bilopil high schoolers. In particular, they tried to find out a far from trivial problem – who is the real author of the author’s content on the page on the social network and who guides the hand, thoughts, emotions of the person who creates the content.

– High schoolers of Bilopil Lyceum impressed with their energy, non-triviality, curiosity. Surprisingly grateful audience, – said Tatiana Kovaleva.

High schoolers, of course, argued that they generate content, do not fake, information hygiene is observed, filters are turned on. Teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPCS SSU sincerely believed. However, they never forget themselves and remind everyone else –#mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe.  And how exactly does this happen, – that’s the question…
