On the website of the professional scientific journal “Obraz” (specialty 061 Journalism, scientific direction of social communications), published by the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University, the regular number of the publication appeared – issue 2 (42) for 2023.

This time, the magazine brought together scientists from Ukrainian and foreign institutions of higher education. These are representatives of the National Aviation University (Kyiv), the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (Kyiv), the National University of Food Technologies (Kyiv), the University of Customs and Finance (Dnipro), the National Lviv Polytechnic University (Lviv), Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Sumy State University (Sumi), as well as the University of Tusia, Santa Maria in Gradi (Viterbo, Italy).

The range of topics presented by the authors is very wide: how the media landscape has changed, why Telegram and Tik-Tok are so popular and what security challenges they cause; scientific views on journalistic creativity and journalistic skill in the studies of V. Zdorovega and V. Buryak; how Ukrainian women’s online magazines are presented in the media space: their types, number and features; methodological integration of media and psychoanalysis; cross-cultural communications in the digital age, their relevance in journalistic activity; problem-thematic components of specialized medical periodicals and continuing editions of Dnieper Ukraine during the First World War. And, of course, topics related to the current situation – the war unleashed by the russian federation against Ukraine: the dynamics of the spread of hate speech in the Telegram channels of leading kremlin propagandists during a full-scale invasion; adaptive changes in the communication discourse of brands during the war; changing the work of Ukrainian YouTube channels covering the topics of culture, arts, and history; problems of the development of the cultural code of the people in the Ukrainian blogosphere during the martial law period; peculiarities of television journalism and documentaries in the context of coverage of the siege of Mariupol during the war.

Work is currently underway on the third issue of the scientific specialist magazine “Obraz”, which is scheduled for release in October 2023. This is an unscheduled issue. Its release is due to the fact that the editors received a record number of articles for publication.

Materials for the last issue, which is scheduled for release in November 2023, are accepted until October 4.
