The project “Improving the quality of training of young journalists in Ukraine” for teachers of journalism faculties and departments, students and regional journalists in Ukraine from the Association for International Affairs of the Czech Republic has ended.

On May 16, 2023, a team of students and teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University presented their credit work from the educational course from TEXTY.org.ua – a creative project in DATA-journalism.

Education seekers Zakhar Yuvko, Anastasia Kyzim, teachers Maryna Sadivnycha and Tetyana Kovalоva told in the created media material how foreign students in Sumy became hostages of russian propaganda at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

The presented multimedia product was highly appreciated by the team of experts from TEXTY.org.ua, the mentors noted its relevance, integrity and significance.

– It was an interesting and useful project. Working with data visualization tools, in particular Flourish, Datawrapper, fruitful communication with coaches and mentors gave invaluable practical experience in creating media products in DATA journalism, – said Zakhar Yuvko, a student of the ZhT-11.

The project was implemented with the financial support of the Transformational Cooperation Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Useful professional practice is the way that #Mediaspаce_leads_to_the_universe.
