Doctor of Philosophy degree holders and teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of  FPSC  Sumy State University took part in the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical online conference "Regional Journalism in Ukraine: History, Realities, Challenges, Prospects."

The scientific event was organized by the Department of Journalism of the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. G. Korolenko and the Poltava Regional Organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

In general, scientific and pedagogical workers, graduate students, journalists, media experts, editors, teachers, master's students, students from Sumy, Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Nizhyn, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Ternopil and other cities took part in the conference.

At the plenary session, reports were delivered by: Professor Nataliya Steblina ("Spreading false information and rumors in regional telegram channels during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation (computer analysis)"), Lyudmila Babenko ("Khliborob newspaper as a factor in the formation of Ukrainian identity"), Nataliya Sydorenko ("Ukrainian-language and bilingual periodicals of Kharkiv in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries"), Svitlana Semenko ("The destruction of gender stereotypes in the publications of the online publication "Kolo.news"), candidate of sciences in social communications Lyudmila Pavlenko ("The role of regional branches of Public Broadcasting in covering the opposition to Russian aggression in the news of Ukrainian Radio").

Representatives of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC Sumy State University worked in several sections, presenting their work to the scientific community. For example, graduate student Oksana Kyrylenko studied "Changing the Concept of Regional Public Broadcasting in the Period of Martial Law", graduate student Oleksandr Gorda - "Digital Media in Agribusiness", graduate student Dmytro Solodovnyk - "Visualization of information as a component of new media: regional aspect". Associate professor of the department Inna Havryliuk offered a report "Slow journalism in the regional media space: features of development."

According to the organizers of the conference, "Interest and lively discussion were aroused by the reports of graduate student, assistant of the department of journalism and philology of Sumy State University Oleksandr Gorda and graduate student of Sumy State University Dmytro Solodovnyk."

Active participation in scientific events with the aim of approving scientific research is one of the features of the training of graduate students at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FPSC Sumy State University.
