On the eve of the All-Ukrainian Library Day, students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FPSC Sumy State University visited the walls of the temple of priceless sources - the Sumy Regional Universal Scientific Library. The old tradition of such warm visits was continued by the first-year students under the guidance of the associate professor of the department, a sincere friend of the library, Iryna Zhilenko.

In the hall, visitors were met by Svitlana Sagaidak, the head of the reading room for young people, and a part-time fairy sorceress who opens the door to all the secrets of history: from Cinderella's lost shoe to the first edition of Ivan Kotlyarevsky's "Aeneid". Most of the students of the ZHT-21 group first saw the monumentality of the building from the inside: from the delicate marble steps to the wooden shelves. Svitlana Sagaidak told about the life of the library from the moment of its creation to the present, aptly interweaving dry facts with mystical ones. The treasury of books and knowledge is famous for its unusual lotus shape, created by the efforts and imagination of the architect Yury Kobylyakov.

Having issued readers' tickets, future journalists and PR specialists went on a tour of the book collection. On the second floor, they were once again convinced of the modernity and mobility of the library, which is a global information center of today, among the possibilities of which are many interest clubs. In the department of foreign literature, they were presented not only with modern manuals for studying the grammar or vocabulary of various languages of the world, but also with the latest technologies, including mini-robots, interactive pens, and a multimedia board-computer with the most modern 3D programs.

Svitlana Sagaidak, talking to the students, emphasized:

– Our library is a completely new format for young people. This is a public and social cultural and artistic center where everyone can find activities to their liking.

Considering the difficult situation in the country, visitors understood that now even a tour of the library takes place only thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To express their gratitude, the students took part in a workshop and joined the volunteer idea of creating trench candles. In a rush of emotions, everyone wrote wishes to our defenders on a hand-made product. We believe that these lights will illuminate not only the dugouts, but also the path to our victory.

Presumably, it is precisely after such rich and soulful library adventures that students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FPSC Sumy State University become regular visitors to the Sumy Regional Universal Scientific Library, because they know very well that there is a path along which #mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe.
