This was stated by a well-known TV presenter, the face of Public Broadcaster Olena Removska during an online meeting with students of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Faculty of FPSC SSU.

Olena Removska is the author of the Radio Svoboda project “Crimea. Realities”, host of “Radio Crimea. Realities”, founded the programs of “Radio Donbas. Realities”, “Details”, before the war she hosted a series (“battle show” format) “Poles” on UA: First, Laureate of the “Honor of the Profession” in the nomination “Best news coverage of a high-profile event” (2020).

What should a TV and radio presenter look like? Why don’t all TV people become the faces of channels? What is the secret of narration (leading) skills? The topic is important not only for student journalists, but also for those who already work in electronic media. Therefore, it is not surprising that the meeting was joined by students of all courses and all forms of education in the program discipline "Skills of TV and radio host" (teacher – Raisa Stoyan).

The conversation with the experienced journalist turned out to be sincere and frank. Students were happy to ask questions, finding out important points, such as the choice of topics, the image of the presenter in the information-analytical format, etc. Speaking about the importance of the reputation of the student guest journalist, she referred to the European and American experience – there the reputation is extremely important and so far almost does not work in Ukrainian realities. An example of this, said Ms. Olena, is the current all-Ukrainian marathon “United News”, which is produced by the joint efforts of major broadcasters. Well-known presenters, former propagandists, channel leaders Viktor Medvedchuk and Yevgeny Muraev, are now telling us chronicles of popular resistance.

– The presenter is a charismatic, extraordinary, bright person, whom the audience must trust, – says Olena Removska. – It is no coincidence that the best TV presenters are experienced journalists. They are well versed in many socially important topics, deeply and accurately know what they are talking about. Experience and thorough knowledge of certain topics, problems – perhaps the main virtue of a popular TV presenter.

Undoubtedly, the arsenal of television and radio broadcasters also includes selected oral and written speech, for which it is worth, in particular, reading quality literature as often as possible.

The participants of the meeting shared their impressions.

Anna Naumenko, ZhT-91:

– Communicating with a practitioner and an experienced professional is always not only interesting but also useful. Based on someone else professional experience, you can draw certain conclusions for yourself. At this time, as now, it is important for a journalist to be aware of his role and influence, to think ahead and make the right choices given his mission in society.

Alexandra Yasnik, ZhTz-93-1s:

– It was not so much the knowledge of the language that affected me, but the level of proficiency and use of it. Ms. Olena was very careful and quick to choose the right words, did not use the word parasites and could clearly and quickly express her own opinion. Her advice is very useful. I think that people who want to work in the media will definitely use them.

The master class from the stakeholder Olena Removska was both interesting and useful for the students of the Department of Journalism and Philology FPSC SSU.
