An offline / online presentation of the resource platform “Public Participation Platform” took place at the Congress Center of Sumy State University.

The event was attended by public figures, heads of state structures, scientists, including SSU: Doctor of Philosophy Andriy Lebid, Doctor of Economics Oleksandr Telizhenko, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Chairman of the Public Council at Sumy Regional Administration Oleh Tulyakov, and Associate Professor of Journalism and Philology, Coordinator NGO “Sumy Press Club” Alla Fedoryna.

As a media worker, Alla Fedorina stressed the importance of feedback in the activities of the рlatform:

– The resource is a great help to those who want to develop their communities. These are counseling, training, experience of success stories, etc. But it is important that communities not only receive, but also give: share their own experiences, talk about their affairs, about people who are respected there, about the highlights of their homeland. In this way, communities will create a positive image and attract. And this is also the key to development.

The platform was created to provide expert and resource support to local authorities and activists of Sumy region to establish cooperation and partnership, implementation of tools for public participation, development of civil society. The resource is part of the project “Building Wealthy Communities through Strengthening Civil Society”, implemented by the NGO “Sumy Public Circle” with the support of the National Democracy Fund (NED). Nina Chernyavska, the project manager and head of the “Sumy Public Circle”, believes that the section of the “My Community Platform”, which will be taken care of by the Sumy Press Club and where news from communities from the communities themselves should be available, is very important. After all, an experienced figure has long been convinced that #mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe.
