Students and lectures of the Department of Journalism and Philology took part in the festival “Protection of human rights: Mediafest”, which took place on August 26-29th in the village Hlebivka, Kyiv region

For the second time, the festival brings together participants to teach them how to cover the issues about human rights and social ones. The event was initiated by the Institute of Journalism, the ZMINA Human Rights Center and the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine. It aims to engage young professionals in the values of human rights, and to promote standards of journalistic ethics in covering issues related to human rights, equality and non-discrimination. The participants of the event attended workshops on reportage photography, street art, and then in groups created media products on human rights issues, avoiding hate speech, and inclusion.
