The PhD thesis graduation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of knowledge 06 “Journalism” in the specialty 061 “Journalism” took place.

The scientific research was defended by Maryna Sadivnycha, a postgraduate student of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC of Sumy State University, a specialist of the university’s press center. The topic of the dissertation is “Social and psychological aspects of author’s materials of franchise publications: mechanisms, functions, methods of implementation”. Research supervisor is Inna Havryliuk, candidate of sciences in social communications, associate professor.

The specialized academic council of Sumy State University with the right to accept for consideration and conduct a one-time defense of the dissertation was headed by Doctor of Sciences in Social Communications, Associate Professor Yaroslav Yanenko. Its members included professors Natalya Kutuza (Odesa) and Iryna Zhylenko (Sumy), assistant professors Tetyana Kovalova (Sumy) and Maryana Kitsa (Lviv).

During the discussions and debates, scientists noted the relevance of the research, the depth of penetration into the topic and its disclosure, the originality of the dissertation’s approach to the analysis of the motives and purpose of writing the author’s journalistic materials, the innovation in highlighting the techniques used by the authors to reflect their own experience, the versatility of the source base, etc.
