The summer season of 2021 turned out to be surprisingly busy for teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of IFSK SSU: almost all of them took part in trainings, conferences, seminars, advanced training courses and more.

It was in the summer that Associate Professor Yaroslav Yanenko received a doctorate in social communications in the specialty “Applied Social Communication Technologies”. The decision of the attestation board was approved on June 29, 2021.

Associate Professor Iryna Zhilenko actively worked on professional development: “Using free online resources to organize the educational process in distance form”, “Management of educational institutions: top 5 principles of success”, “Social MediaMarketing: a basic course for teachers”, “Electronic learning technologies in SSU “. The most important is the fact that she received a Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages ​​(English, Level B2).

Associate Professor Tetyana Kovaleva took training courses in data journalism and registers and cadastres in the work of an investigative journalist; successfully completed the online school “Digital-trainer: antibodies to infodemia” and practical media literacy.

Assistant lecturer Olena Ishchenko acquired new knowledge during a scientific and pedagogical internship at the University of Applied Sciences ISMA (Republic of Latvia). Topic – “Baltic approach in the training of teachers of philology”. The issues of philological and socio-communicative aspects in text creation, the use of remote methods in the EU countries, different approaches to the study of fiction in foreign language teaching and others were considered.

Associate Professor Volodymyr Sadivnychy improved his professional skills in publishing scientific professional journals, in particular, he was trained in the course “Criteria and procedure for selecting publications for the Web of Science Core Collection” from Clarivate.

And, of course, summer conferences of international and national levels were not held without the participation of teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Faculty of FPSC SSU. Thus, Iryna Zhilenko spoke at the section meeting “European values ​​for the new Ukrainian school: teaching, learning, sharing” of the First International Conference “European values ​​in Ukrainian education: challenges and prospects”. Yaroslav Yanenko took part in the international scientific-theoretical conference “Scientific Forum: Theory and Practice of Research” (Valencia, Spain).

Volodymyr Sadivnychy and Yaroslav Yanenko continued to implement the scientific topic “Specialized system of medical information and personal security in pandemics, crises and other social upheavals: the formation of an effective socio-communication model”, funded by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. In particular, together with scientists from other departments of the faculty of FPSC SSU completed a monographic study.

So the summer passed. A busy school year is ahead, in the organization and conduct of which will gain experience, skills, knowledge. Development is the main feature of the specialty “Journalism” at SSU.
