Today, on November 9, the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, the 20th Radio Dictation of National Unity took place –a jubilee for Ukraine. Traditionally, students of the Department of Journalism and Philology also joined the writing.

Earlier every year, students of the Department of Journalism and Philology used to gather in lecture rooms to write a dictation of unity. But now because of the coronavirus pandemic, there is no such possibility, so everyone could listen and write a text at home.

This year's dictation was called "The Challenges of the Book Era." The text reveals the current topic – electronic media versus paper books. The text for the radio dictation-2020 was written by a writer and publisher Ivan Malkovych. A famous actress Rimma Zyubina was reading the dictation.

The 3rd year student journalist Karina Chornobuk shared her impressions of writing the dictation:

- Writing at home was actually very comfortable. It was not difficult, because before the dictation I repeated "New Ukrainian spelling". However, there have been some points about which I was not entirely sure. The news that Avramenko would not dictate baffled a little, but Rimma Zyubina was also a good reader.

Zoreslava Shedenko, a student journalist of the 3rd year, also commented on her participation in the all-Ukrainian flash mob:

- This year's novelty is the text that Rimma Zyubina was reading. Its peculiarity is artistic reading. Personally, I prefer the reading of Alexander Avramenko, for by his reading you can better understand punctuation marks. It is unusual to write at home: I used to write a radio dictation at school, in the last 2 years – at the university. I hope that the quarantine will end and next year we will gather again in a lecture room of SSU because when we write the dictation together, the national unity can be felt better.
