The teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSC Sumy State University Olena Bondarenko, Olena Ishchenko, Tetyana Kovalova, Alla Fedorуna and Inna Gavrylyuk took part in the webinar “Interactive forms and methods in the process of teaching journalism disciplines”, which was held by the Academy of the Ukrainian Press with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.

The event brought together teachers from educational institutions that train future mass media professionals. During three days, participants listened to lectures and did practical tasks together with trainers – media expert of the Academy of the Ukrainian Press, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor, head of the Department of Social Communications of Mariupol State University Tetyana Ivanova and media trainer, journalist, candidate of philological sciences, teacher of Taras Shevchenko KNU Andriy Yurychka. The event was moderated by the president of the Academy of the Ukrainian Press, doctor of philological sciences, professor Valery Ivanov.

The main message of the training is to prepare a researcher, an investigator, someone who knows how to think, reflect, and not just transmit information. In addition, interactivity, democracy, innovation, practical orientation should be a mandatory component of the modern approach to training, according to the trainers. Actually, all presented cases were based on this concept. The participants of the event not only watched and listened, but also took an active part in games, quizzes, brainstorming, and reflective experiments.
