On October 3, Olena Ishchenko, an assistant at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University, took part in the digital contact seminar for Swedish and Ukrainian higher education institutions “Swedish-Ukrainian Contact Seminar 2023 – a digital conference on education and research”.

ОThe event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Research Fund of Ukraine, the National Office of Erasmus+ in Ukraine, the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Research Council.

The following main topics were brought up for discussion: peculiarities of building an academic career, the importance of conducting qualitative scientific research, the importance of building higher education in Ukraine according to European standards, the results and prospects of cooperation between Sweden and Ukraine in the field of higher education, etc. Speakers paid special attention to Erasmus+ programs.

The seminar offered the participants a platform for communication, allowed them to learn more about the relevant education systems and opportunities for financing education and scientific research. With the help of presentations, lectures, group discussions, it was possible to expand one's knowledge and opportunities for international cooperation both in the field of higher education and in the field of scientific research.

– During the meeting, representatives of Swedish and Ukrainian universities had the opportunity to communicate with foreign colleagues, exchange experience, and discuss ideas for new projects. This is extremely important nowadays. I was very pleased to talk about Sumy State University and its opportunities in the field of international cooperation, – Olena Ishchenko shared her impressions.
