On November 28, the training course «The war in Ukraine on the maps» ended, in which Tetіana Kovalova, Аssociate professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSC, students Anna Shpurik and Artem Korol took part. Teachers and students of journalism faculties and departments of Ukrainian higher education institutions and novice journalists from regional media were also invited.

Texty.org.ua together with the Czech non-governmental organization «Association on International Affairs» taught participants to work with data and create their own projects for five weeks.

The training course consisted of theoretical and practical blocks, the processing of which helped the participants to acquire basic knowledge and skills for creating visual storytelling based on maps. The basic topic of the course is working with data related to the war in Ukraine.

Together with the mentors, the participants went all the way from choosing a topic to presenting the finished material — articles and visualizations. Various thematic media texts supplemented with interactive maps were presented for consideration. The developed projects will soon be evaluated and published on the website www.checkregion-ua.info. The best ones are awarded with valuable gifts. The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Even a blackout does not prevent our teachers and students from studying, because #mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe .
