Associate Professor of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU Tetyana Kovalyova  took part in a training on digital security, which took place on June 24.

The training was conducted by Pavlo Belousov, an expert on digital security of the “Internews-Ukraine” NGO, a consultant of the DSS380 School of Digital Security, and an expert of the TrollessUA project.

The trainer-expert focused on covering issues related to the preservation of his intellectual property, including topics of protection of accounts from external threats, confiscation, loss of information, setting up confidential communication on social networks and more.

In the training, participants learned to protect personal information to minimize the likelihood of its loss or access to it by others.

– Since there is a threat of physical data loss during the war, it is important to create backups and save recovery codes, – said Pavlо Belousov.

During the work they discussed where it is best to store and how to share the most important documents, how to configure the protection of information from mobile devices through 2-factor authentication, code generator programs.

Participants acquired the skills to follow the measures of safe use of the camera and microphone of mobile devices, protection of information from the screen, etc. The advantages and disadvantages of different ways of locking devices in terms of the probability of breaking the selected code were considered.
