The project “Sumy Journalism. Idividuals” , which became a joint venture of the Department of Journalism and Philology, FPSC SSU and NGO “Sumy Press Club”. The reason for its implementation is the 20th anniversary of the public organization, which took place in late November.

The 20th anniversary is an event not only for the board of the press club, but also for all those who have gone through the training and activities of the organization. No wonder, responding to the post about the anniversary, our former students write on Facebook: “Congratulations! I am glad that I had the opportunity to practice with you”, – Karina Khachataryan; “Sincere congratulations. I am grateful that I spent so much time there! Prosperity!” – Ulyana Dryuchkova; “In 2006 I studied at the school of journalism, being still a 10th grader)) I am infinitely grateful for this experience!) In addition to knowledge, I became friends with cool people) and we might not have met if not for the Press Club. Thank you Alla Fedorina and congratulations to all involved!)” – Elena Burnos; “Dear !!! Sincere congratulations and thanks !!”, – Yulia Gaidina; "Congratulations!!!! This is a strong date! Good luck! ” – Inna Bytyuk…

“Sumy journalism. Idividuals” is becoming popular. The first publication appeared on the website of the press club – about a prominent colleague who passed away in 1996, Gennady Petrov. Third-year students Ani Naumenko and Anatoliy Serdyuk, who were the first to join the project, will be interviewed; our undergraduates. They chose their heroes and have already met with them.

Of course, there were some discussions. For example, some people offered to interview their peers. However, the idea is a temporary excursion and demonstration of the experience of senior colleagues. And young people will still have time to speak!

Why such a project?

– It is just one of the few that we plan to carry out during the year on the occasion of such a date, – says the project manager, Associate Professor and coordinator of the Sumy Press Club Alla Fedorina. – There are, of course, some historical notes, chronologies of the development of regional journalism. But is there anything better for a true understanding of the industry than the testimony of the media themselves – journalists, cameramen, photographers, administrators, proofreaders and, of course, editors? And who but us to tell about them?

The fact that the press club and the department of journalism and philology undertook to implement the project is “absolutely logical”, – said the head of the department and deputy chairman of the Sumy Press Club Volodymyr Sadivnychy.

– Students will study journalism in the region through their senior colleagues, as well as learn to interview, communicate, understand the professional environment and its specifics. In this way, they will better position themselves professionally.

Робота розпочалася. І ми сподіваємося, що до неї приєднаються нові охочі, а власне ті, хто бажає освоїти журналістський фах по-справжньому. Адже #mediaspace_leads_to_the_universe.
