Third-year media students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the FРSС of Sumy State University, who worked during the “TV Production” class in the “live” format, were able to understand what “live broadcast” is and how this live  correspondent’s stand-up differs from an edited report.

The future journalists modeled a real television production process – a news broadcast with direct inclusions. That is, they were added to the news release with a commentary on the events on the live air. For this, they chose urgent, socially important topics, in accordance with them – certain locations, from which live, directly from the scene of the event, were connected to the online ether via mobile Internet. She coordinated the work of the presenter's media representatives, who in tandem with the authors wrote and edited briefs, worked on the layout, directly entered and exited live broadcasts. The teachers of the discipline “Television production” Raisa Stoyan, Inna Havryliuk and the creative producer of JSC “National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine”, postgraduate student of the department Oksana Kyrylenko helped the students to cope with the task.

It should be noted that the future journalists were impressed by the subject matter of the comments and the skill of performing such a difficult, even for experienced professionals, format as direct inclusions. Among the topics chosen by the students are the problems with the reconstruction of housing destroyed by the Russian aggressor in the border town of Shostka, the situation with the Sumy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the transportation of passengers to the border settlements that are under fire (the village of Chornobrivkine of the Putivl community), they commented on the situation with electronic prescriptions for medicines, market prices for vegetables and fruits, etc. Future media workers covered the specified topics in detail and quite competently from different locations.

After the news release, an analysis and discussion of the work of the journalistic team took place. Practical advice and instructions from stakeholder Oksana Kyrylenko were especially timely and appropriate.

In general, the fact that classes for future mass media workers should be primarily practice-oriented is a postulate of the educational process for the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of IFSK of Sumy State University. The approach, when the theory is supported by practice, is the basis of the training of real professionals and an example of how #media_space_leads_to_the_universe.
