Students of the fourth year of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of FPSC Sumy State University, studying the discipline "Newspaper and magazine production", met in the mode of a video conference with professional media designer Nina Spiridonova.

The stakeholder introduced the students to her own creative work, in particular, she demonstrated paper versions of the magazines "TOP-100 influential people of Kyiv region", "Agronomy Today", "Agronom", "Art of manicure", on which she works. The designer shared the intricacies of working with text, photos and illustrations.

The main thing during the conversation with the guest of future journalists was the practical use of the Adobe InDesign program, which is the main part of the work of modern technical editors and typewriters who design paper versions of newspapers and magazines. Therefore, Nina Spiridonova focused students' attention on the practical advantages of working with the program and demonstrated how to create forms of journalistic materials. Considering the importance of understanding the technology of creating paper publications, students actively discussed working with the Adobe InDesign program, clarified the details and possibilities for high-quality layout of texts and illustrations.

The professional media designer also recommended additional design programs and sites to future journalists to improve students' practical knowledge by providing them with additional materials.

Meetings with professionals in the media industry are a permanent and mandatory form of work with students at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the IFSK Faculty of Sumy State University.
