Teachers of the Department of Journalism and Philology on May 21 held an online meeting with the representatives of the British public organization Ethical Journalism Network Danica Elic and Hannah Storm

The purpose of the meeting is to establish cooperation within the framework of the grant project DESTIN during the development of educational online courses on media literacy for the general public. The Department of Journalism and Philology coordinates the working package of the grant program for the development of such courses and it is planned to launch a pilot course on the interuniversity platform of SSU “Ekzamenarium” in February. Thereafter, the courses developed by other nine Ukrainian universities-partners of the project DESTIN will be in free access for all Internet users.

Educational courses will be free and cover the topics of media critics, media production, and media systems. It provides division by levels of difficulty, which will ensure the intelligible presentation of information to children and adults. After completion of the course a participant will be able to receive a certificate.

The parties agreed that representatives of Ethical Journalism Network will provide auxiliary materials for the development of educational courses.
