Within the framework of the DESTIN grant program by Erasmus + the lecturers of the Department of Journalism and Philology participated in the internship that took place at Linnaeus University (Kalmar, Sweden)

 

SSU was represented by four participants: head of the Department of Journalism and Philology Professor Olena Tkachenko, deputy director Associate Professor Olha Sydorenko, Associate Professor Volodymyr Sadivnychiy, and senior lecturer Yulia Kozyr.

The objective of the internship is to acquaint the Ukrainian teachers, who are teaching the students in the specialty "Journalism", and the representatives of media organizations with the experience of preparing journalists in Sweden.

The teachers communicated with the coordinators of three bachelor programs of Linnaeus University, related to journalism and media production, – Peter Dahlen (the program "Creative Media"), Emelie Kempe ("Journalism and Media Production") and Örjan Petersson ("Media and Entrepreneurship"). Coordinators talked about the organization of educational process, approaches to task estimation, teachers’ working conditions and students' training.

Technical support of the educational process was demonstrated to the participants. Ukrainian teachers also met the representatives of the Media Institute Fojo, who work at Linnaeus University and provide training courses for Swedish journalists, attended the editorial offices of the local newspaper “Barometern” and the radio station "Swedish Radio" Р4".
